Köln VS. Hoffenheim – Friday 19:30
Hoffenheim will be aiming to extend their winning run in Bundesliga to five games when they take on relegation strugglers Köln at RheinEnergieStadion. Alfred Schreuder’s troops quickly made amends for a slow start to the season, am confident and positive that they are going to give their fans yet another reason for celebration on Friday evening. One of the men to keep an eye on in the away team will be summer signing Jürgen Locadia, who scored his second goal of the season in a 3-0 win over Paderborn. On the other hand the Billy Goats have failed to impress in a 2-0 loss to Fortuna Düsseldorf. Even though they are tough to beat at home am tempted to tip Hoffenheim to win this game.
Köln 1: Hoffenheim 2
Hertha Berlin VS. RB Leipzig – Saturday 14:30
After thrashing Mainz by 8 goals to nil, Leipzig will be looking to give their fans yet another reason for celebration when they take on Hertha at Olympiastadion on Saturday afternoon. The Red Bulls put an end to their four-game winless run, with the team overtaking defending champions Bayern Munchen in the Bundesliga standings. Leipzig are brimming with confidence ahead of the trip to Berlin. Hertha will be aiming to bounce back following the back to back losses to the likes of Hoffenheim and Union Berlin. The man to watch in the Leipzig team is German International Timo Werner. He scored his second hat trick of the season in the 8-0 win over Mainz. It’s going to be a difficult game for the Red Bulls but I think they will win this game.
Hertha 1: Leipzig 2
Mainz VS. Union Berlin – Saturday 14:30
Mainz will be aiming to bounce back from an 8-0 loss to Leipzig when they host Union Berlin at their Opel Arena. This game could be a turning point for the home team. Mainz produce a much better performance at home than away. Union Berlin did well to beat Hertha at home in the local derby but since they are not regarded as good travelers and the host are wounded lions I will not be surprised if they host win this game.
Mainz 2: Union Berlin 1
Paderborn VS. Augsburg – Saturday 14:30
Paderborn have collected only four points from a possible 30 in the Bundesliga to date and as a result they sit last in the league standings. On the other hand Augsburg are considered one of the main candidates to suffer relegation this season and given their poor away record in the German top flight. I think the two teams are going to share the spoils at BentelerArena.
Paderborn 1: Augsburg 1
Schalke VS. Fortuna Düsseldorf – Saturday 14:30
Veltins Arena will host Saturday’s Bundesliga game between Schalke and Fortuna Düsseldorf. Schalke played out a goalless draw with their local rivals Borussia Dortmund in their last home game. The host look favorite to pick all the three points from the Fortuna Düsseldorf clash because they are tough to beat at home.
Schalke 2: Fortuna Düsseldorf 0
Bayern Munich VS. Borussia Dortmund – Saturday 17:30
Niko Kovac’s era at Allianz Arena has come to an end. He got fired following an embarrassing 5-1 loss at Eintracht Frankfurt with Hansi Flick taking over the reins as a caretaker manager. The Bavarians are hoping to bounce back from massive defeat, but the game against their bitter rivals Dortmund will be a difficult one. A man to watch for the host is Lewandowski who can’t stop scoring. On the part of Dortmund they will aim to build on a 3-0 win over Wolfsburg. Given the situation in the Bayern dressing room, I think the defending champions are slightly favourite to win this game.
Bayern Munich 2: Borussia Dortmund 1
Mönchengladbach VS. Werder Bremen – Sunday 12:30
Mönchengladbach will be looking to build on back to back wins when they host Werder Bremen at their Stadion in Borussia-Park on Sunday afternoon. Mönchengladbach have been impressive at home ground of late and are eyeing their fourth consecutive win in front of home fans. Marcus Thuram scored his 5th goal of the season meaning the opposition defenders should have him at bay. However given the form of the host I don’t think the away team can stop them.
Mönchengladbach 3: Werder Bremen 1
Wolfsburg VS. Bayer Leverkusen – Sunday 14:30
Wolfsburg aim to bounce back from 3-0 loss to Dortmund. They aim to put an end to their three-game winless run in the Bundesliga but beating Bayer Leverkusen will not easy. The two teams seem to be evenly matched. I will not be surprised if this game should end in a draw.
Wolfsburg 1: Bayer Leverkusen 1
Freiburg VS. Eintracht Frankfurt
Freiburg did well to hold Werder Bremen to a draw in their last league match and the fact that they won their previous home fixture against Leipzig will give their fans a reason for optimism ahead of this game. Although Frankfurt crush the defending champions Bayern Munich by 5-1. I don’t think they can win this game.
Freiburg 2: Frankfurt 1
