Borussia Dortmund VS. Paderborn – Friday
Borussia Dortmund will be looking to bounce back from a massive 4-0 defeat to Bayern Munchen when they welcome Paderborn at their Signal-Iduna-Park. The newcomers do not seem to be competitive at this level, with the away team collecting only four from possible 33 points. Dortmund will go all guns blazing at the rock-bottom team. I see this game as a David and Goliath affair. Over the years, Dortmund has turned their home ground into a real fortress, and given Paderborn’s shaky defense, I tip Dortmund to thrash Paderborn.
Borussia Dortmund: 4 Paderborn: 0
Bayern Leverkusen VS. Freiburg – Saturday
Bayern Leverkusen put an end to their four-game winless run in the Bundesliga, when they defeated Wolfsburg by 2 goals to nil. Leverkusen needs to keep on raising their form if they are to secure a top-four finish at the end of the season. Freiburg is tough to beat and is aiming to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. I tip the home team to win this game.
Bayern Leverkusen: 2 Freiburg: 1
Fortuna Düsseldorf VS. Bayern Munich – Saturday
Fortuna Düsseldorf is tough to beat at home, but they have a big fish to fry in the clash against the defending champions Bayern Munich. The Bavarians proved their worth in a 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in der Klassiker. Bayern Munich will be a hard nut for Fortuna Düsseldorf to crack.
Fortuna Düsseldorf: 0 Bayern Munich: 3
Eintracht Frankfurt VS. Wolfsburg – Saturday
Eintracht Frankfurt did well to outclass the likes of Bayern Leverkusen and Bayern Munich in their previous two home fixtures. The two teams seem to be evenly matched at the moment, but Frankfurt is slightly ahead of Wolfsburg.
Eintracht Frankfurt: 2 Wolfsburg: 1
Union Berlin VS. Borussia Mönchengladbach -Saturday
Union Berlin and Borussia Mönchengladbach face each other at stadion An der Alten Forsterei. The newcomers made a slow to the season, but their recent performances are undisputedly giving fans a reason for optimism. The host is brimming with confidence ahead of the visit of Mönchengladbach, but they are still seen as underdogs in Saturday’s clash. Mönchengladbach looks unstoppable at the moment. Mönchengladbach will retain the top spot if they win this game.
Union Berlin: 1 Mönchengladbach: 2
Werder Bremen VS. Schalke – Saturday
Werder Bremen are struggling to live up to their expectations, with the team sitting in 14th place in the Bundesliga standings ahead of this fixture. Meaning that this game is of great importance to them. On the other hand, Schalke has been scoring goals for fun of late. I will not be surprised to see this game ending in a scoring draw.
Werder Bremen: 1 Schalke: 1
Leipzig vs. Köln – Saturday
Leipzig is eyeing a top-four finish while the away team are determined to secure the Bundesliga survival. Leipzig is enjoying a four game-winning run in all competitions ahead of this fixture. The Red Bulls are a real force to be reckoned with at home, and given Köln’s poor away record, your guess is as good as mine.
Leipzig: 4 Köln: 0
Augsburg VS. Hertha Berlin – Sunday
Augsburg will be looking to record their second home win of the season when they take on Hertha at WWK Arena. After a hard-fought win at Paderborn, Augsburg has escaped a relegation zone in the Bundesliga standings. On the other hand Hertha is not good away travelers and a scoring draw will be a true reflection of this game.
Augsburg: 2 Hertha Berlin: 2
Hoffenheim vs. Mainz – Sunday
Hoffenheim will be looking to extend their winning run in the Bundesliga to six games when they host Mainz at their PreZero Arena. Hoffenheim aims to climb to the Champions League berth in the Bundesliga standings, they will go all guns blazing at Mainz. On the other hand the away team must be low in confidence ahead of the trip to Hoffenheim and I don’t believe they are capable of matching high flying Hoffenheim.
Hoffenheim: 4 Mainz: 0
