Here is a look at some of this weekend’s NFL games
Baltimore Ravens VS. San Francisco 49ers
The Ravens have perhaps been the best team in the NFL this season alongside the New England Patriots. They are currently on an impressive 7-game winning run after cruising past the Los Angeles Rams 45-6 in their last game. Their recent form sees them occupy the first position in the AFC North Division with a 9-2 (W-L) record this season. Their good form this season can be linked to the performance of Quarterback Lamar Jackson, who was instrumental in their last by recording the Highest passes in that game. He has also broken NFL records and won several accolades so far this season. He could be a handful for the 49ers on Sunday based on current form. Ahead of the game, Matthew Judon, Nick Boyle, Domata Peko Sr. and Bradley Bozeman are reportedly questionable with injuries and be unavailable.
The 49ers are also in decent form at the moment of their toughest test thus far. Their 37-8 win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday extended their winning run to 2 games. Their win-loss record this season now stands at 10-1 and sees them occupy the first position in the NFC West Division. Their only defeat this season was a 27-24 OT loss against Seattle. They are also yet to lose on the road this season. Another player to watch in this game will be Tight End George Kittle, who has recorded a lot of impressive blocks this season.
Prediction: Ravens to win
Cincinnati Bengals VS. New York Jets
Cincinnati Bengals host the Jets in an all-important encounter, which could potentially turn their season around. They are arguably the unluckiest team in the NFL as they are currently without a win this season after 11 games with a poor 0-11 record so far. Their latest defeat came at the hands of Pittsburgh Steelers (16-10) last weekend. They are also 4th in the AFC North Division. This encounter surely will be a must-win encounter for them. They, however, have major injury concerns going into this season as the trio of Geno Atkins, Tyler Eifert, and Darqueze Dennard are reportedly out with injuries whilst Drew Sample and Nick Vigil are also doubts for the game. Jordan Evans is also questionable for the game.
The Jets, on the other hand, have picked up momentum in recent weeks and will be eyeing a fourth consecutive win on Sunday. They beat the Oakland Raiders 34-3 last weekend to secure their third straight win. Their last loss came at the hands of the Miami Dolphins (26-18). Their current run of results has also seen an improvement in their win-loss record. They currently have a 4-7 record after 11 games and are 3rd in the AFC East Division. With this current form and their opponents’ struggles this season, they will be unlucky not to win. They could be without star Quarterback Sam Darnold who is reportedly questionable with injury.
Prediction: Jets to win
Pittsburgh Steelers VS. Cleveland Browns
This is the second meeting between these two teams in the last two weeks.
The Steelers are second in the AFC North Division with a 6-5 record this season. They won 16-10 at Cincinnati Bengals last weekend to bounce back from the 21-7 loss they endured at the hands of this weekend’s opponent, the Browns a fortnight ago. That game is remembered for the infamous Myles Garrett incident. It has been confirmed this week that undrafted Quarterback Devlin Hodges will be starting for the Steelers for the first time. The Steelers could also potentially be without the services of JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Conner, and Artie Burns, who are all reportedly doubts for this game.
The Browns are also on the hunt for a fourth consecutive win after beating the Miami Dolphins 41-24 last weekend. They are now third in the AFC North Division with a 5-6 record. Their recent good run of wins though have all come at home. In fact, they are winless in their last 3 away games with their last game on the road ending in a 24-19 loss to the Denver Broncos. That will be a huge concern going into this game. They will also be sweating over the fitness of influential duo Olivier Vernon and Odell Beckham Jr., who are all reportedly questionable with injuries.
Prediction: Steelers to win
Houston Texans VS. New England Patriots
This game is perhaps the top headliner in the AFC this weekend as AFC South Division’s Houston Texans host the AFC East Division leaders and reigning Super Bowl Champions, the New England Patriots.
The Texans are top of the AFC South Division with a 7-4 record this season. They beat the Indianapolis Colts 20-17 last weekend in both sides second meeting this season and returned to winning ways after losing 41-7 to the Baltimore Ravens in the previous week. Bradley Roby is also in contention to feature this weekend. They will, however, be considered underdogs for this encounter.
The Patriots are also searching for a third straight win since their 1-year unbeaten streak ended in a 37-20 loss to the Ravens. They beat the Dallas Cowboys 13-9 in their recent game. They are currently first in the AFC East Division with a 10-1 record this season. The only concern for the Patriots going into this game is the fitness of about eight players who are reportedly doubts for the game with illness.
Prediction: Patriots to win
Denver Broncos VS. Los Angeles Chargers
The Broncos are winless in their last two games since their 24-19 win over the Cleveland Browns. That win is their only win in their last 5 games. They are also 4th in the AFC West Division with a 3-8 record. They must start improving by winning games.
The Chargers are also 3rd in the AFC West Division with a 4-7 record. They are also winless in their last two games.
Prediction: Chargers to win
