5 million copies of Final Fantasy VII Remake sold

Final Fantasy VII Remake released on PS4 earlier this year to constant praise and trade success. Square Enix announced that, following a title that premiered on PlayStation 4 just for its first year, it had sold over five million copies of its new mega-hit release, Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The calculation covers internet downloads and online orders, which means that the total amount of copies shipped to buyers is a little smaller.

Square Enix over the weekend broke the news that Final Fantasy VII Remake is their highest selling digital title ever. The report is not surprising; this game started flying, and in three days, it sold 3.5 million.

In April, the game also topped the NPD charts, all following their arrival on one platform. Final Fantasy VII, of course, arrives in April next year on other platforms that still have to be released. It should be noted.

Sales on other platforms

The game itself is a brand new PlayStation 1 title (less the “Remake” descriptor), which ultimately placed the loved characters such as Cloud Strife back in the limelight from 1997 classic because this evident popularity is little wonder considering how adored this original game was.

At the unveiling, the FF7 was reported as an exclusive to the PS4. Still, players have since heard that they should hope to eventually grace other platforms until 10th April 2021 with Sony’s exclusivity of at least one full year. Square Enix did not indicate, however, whether or when Final Fantasy 7 Remake is going to be introduced to other platforms if the publisher does it, it typically arrives on next-generation platforms such as the PS5 and Xbox series X.

While still stuck in the PS4, Square Enix has started to happily award the title and announce it has digitally sold over five million copies of the game. The organization has taken Twitter as its official account, reminding the public of its new performance. It looks like Final Fantasy 7 Remake is the hit release many have expected.

“Over 5 million copies of @FinalFantasyVII Remake have shipped and digitally sold worldwide, and we couldn’t have done it without you. Congrats to the entire team on reimagining an iconic game for everyone.” They wrote.

So that you know, revenue will probably go up even further when the game finally finishes on other networks. In this situation, FF7R is no different from the popularity of Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy on other platforms with its own exclusive PS4 one-year window. This would, of course, also characterize potential collaborations between Sony and Square Enix, with different deals such as Spider-Man being the sole indication of a continued collaboration between the two being the PS4 iteration of Marvel’s Avengers.

Attention must now be taken to the expected FF7R series. Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake 2 was still in development though the game is expected to be only a long way away from release. If this sequel will also be a sort of exclusive Sony PlayStation 5 console title is unclear. Thanks to the commercial popularity of the first part of the reworked retelling, such an arrangement would be impossible to rule out.

About Final Fantasy VII Remake

Final Fantasy VII Remake is Square Enix ‘s 2020 Roll-Playing Action Title. Set in the Midgar dystopian cyberpunk city, it lets players assume the part of a soldier named Cloud Strife. It’s the first of the proposed games series to revive the 1997 PlayStation classic Final Fantasy VII. He joins AVALANCHE, an eco-terrorist organization that aims to discourage the influential Shinra megacorporation from exploiting the quality of life on the earth. The platform blends combat in real-time with situational features and positions.

After years of speculation, Remake was announced in 2015. There returned some important employees, including Tetsuya Nomura, as director and designer of the main story, Yoshinori Kitase as a producer as well, Kazushige Nojima, the writer of the scenario, Motomu Toriyama, event planner, and Nobuo Uematsu, a composer who was back with the team to compose the main theme. The personnel redesigned the characters to reconcile realism and style. The English cast was re-casted, while the Japanese veteran Final Fantasy VII cast returned to the new installment.

Although marketed as a remake, the story has changed many times from the original game, such as that of Barret attacked by the antagonist Sephiroth and saved through a whisper. During the Midgar scenario, Sephiroth appears, although only when flashback Cloud experiences are appropriately introduced.
