Astralis Group, one of the most renowned Esport organizations owned by Danish players, has partnered with the Italian Football team Juventus to enter eFootball.

What is eFootball to begin with?

eFootball is a new Esport competition, combining esports and football. “eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020″ is the name. It was officially released in July this year. The eFootball PES 2020 is a football simulation video game published by Konami for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Android, and IOS.

Many football teams were welcomed into the league, with Juventus being one of them. They were announced as one of four additions to the football league ahead of its second season.

Chief Revenue Officer of Juventus, Giorgio Ricci, came out to describe the clubs involvement in the release. ” The entry into the world of esports favored by the partnership with Konami not only gives us the opportunity to a new and vast audience but it also a testimony of how Juventus is attentive to the evolution of the forms of entertainment and the interest of the public,” he said, “the club has always been ready to accept new challenges and today we are pleased to undertake this adventure, proud of having once again given concrete application to our philosophy of: Live Ahead” Ricci added.

Astralis launched Future FC in August, and it was not the first time the Danish parent company worked within sports simulation games. It’s other brands also compete in Counter-Strike; global offensive and league of legends, whiles Future FC focused solely on FIFA.

Anders Horsholt, who is the co-CEO of Astralis Group also spoke on the agreement. He praised the organization in the very best way and extended his gratitude to Juventus. “Astralis Group is a pioneer in esports and our approach to performance optimization on all levels has influenced the entire industry. We already demonstrated our ability to create long term results and it is a natural development of our business to enter collaborations like this. We’re very pleased to be part of the Juventus Esport initiative”.

Juventus will not only be competing in the eFootball league but also in eSerie A TIM, a professional league competition for football clubs located at the top of the Italian Football League system. FC Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Arsenal are also teams that have been welcomed into the league. The four sides, including Juventus, will compete alongside Barcelona, Schakel 04, AS Monaco, Celtic FC, Boavista FC, and FC Nantes.

Insider insights

Esports Insider says it is no surprise at all to see Juventus enter the Esport space from Pro Evolution Soccer after EA sports had ended it’s partnership with the club earlier this year. “The club is in the safe hands of Astralis Group, which is solely dedicated to esports, so this partnership certainly has the potential to be fruitful for both parties heading into 2020,” they wrote.

Senior Director of Brand and Business Development at Konami Digital, Jonas Lygaard, had his say abt the deal.”This is an incredibly exciting moment for the future of esports and eFootball more specifically. To secure the participation of 10 of the world’s most well-known football clubs is a testament to the quality of football PES 2020 and its ability to connect clubs to their fans in new and dynamic ways. With authentic squads and professional players, eFootball.Pro will be one to watch.”

Karl Heinz Rummenigge, Chairman of FC Bayern Munich, also discussed their entry into the football league and is anticipating their competitions without their top teams. This is what he had to say, “Bayern will participate in this league in cooperation with its partners Telekom, Allianz and Siemens with its own team. We are looking forward to the duels against other European top teams like FC Barcelona, Manchester United or Juventus Turin. We deliberately chose to focus on soccer simulation games in the field of esports.”

Esports which has been trying it’s best to put the sports on the map, make it known, is clearly moving faster than expected. Considering the fact that they are already partnering with top tier soccer teams is just incredible. There is no doubt that a few years from now, electronic sports will be one of the known and practiced sports in the world. Students are adding it to their programs, and they are recruiting and signing people each and every day, what more can we ask of the million-dollar industry?!
