today match predictions

Here is a look at the games expected to be played in the NBA on Wednesday.

Charlotte Hornets VS. Washington Wizards

The Hornets host the Wizards for their second meeting this season and will be looking for retribution after they lost the first encounter 125-118 at Washington.

The Hornets have now recorded back-to-back losses after losing 122-107 against the Atlanta Hawks over the weekend. The other defeat came in a 111-104 loss to the Brooklyn Nets. They have also recorded only 1 victory in their last 5 games. That win came against the Golden State Warriors (106-91). Their win-loss record this season now stands at 9-16. They are currently 3rd and 10th in the Southeast Division and the Eastern Conference respectively, with a win percentage of .360.  This game is definitely a must-win for them. They could, however, be without Point Guard pair P.J. Washington and Marvin Williams, who are both reportedly doubtful for the game.

Like their opponents, the Wizards have also lost their last two games. Their latest defeat came over last weekend in a 135-119 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. The other defeat came at Miami Heat (112-103). They have only won 1 of their last 6 games. That victory was recorded last week at the Philadelphia 76ers (119-113).

They are currently 4th and 12th in the Southeast Division and Eastern Conference respectively with a 7-15 record and a win percentage of .318. They will be looking to improve their record on the road in this game as they have only won 3 games on the road all season. They also have injury concerns of their own as Point Guard Isaiah Thomas and Shooting Guard C.J. Miles are both ruled out for the game with injuries.

Prediction: Hornets VS. Wizards- 120-118

Philadelphia 76ers VS. Denver Nuggets

This 76ers meet the Nuggets for the second time this season after their first encounter ended in a 100-97 win for the Nuggets. This game will also be the Nuggets’ fourth consecutive game on the road. As such, there will be a lot at stake in this game.

The 76ers were victorious over the weekend after they beat the reigning NBA Champions, the Toronto Raptors 110-104, to record a second consecutive win. The wins have now moved them to 2nd and 4th in the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference respectively with a 17-7 win-loss record and a win percentage of .708. Their 119-113 loss at the Washington Wizards last week is their only defeat in their last 7 games. They will prove a bigger threat to the Nuggets.

The Nuggets, on the other hand, have recorded consecutive losses in their last two games (105-102 at Boston Celtics and 105-102 at Brooklyn Nets). They have now lost 4 and won only once in their last 5 NBA games. That sole victory came in a 129-92 win at New York Knicks last week. They are still top of the Northwest Division and 5th in the Western Conference with a 14-7 win-loss record and a win percentage of .667. This game presents the right opportunity for them to record a second victory over the 76ers this season and also get back to winning ways.

Prediction: 76ers VS. Nuggets- 117-120

Miami Heat VS. Atlanta Hawks

This game will be the third meeting between these two teams this season. Miami Heat was victorious in both two games played earlier this season. The first meeting ended in a 112-97 win in favor of Miami Heat at Atlanta Hawks whilst the second game also ended in a 106-97 win at home for Miami Heat. Atlanta Hawks will definitely be looking to get a little retribution in this game.

The Heat are currently in decent form after beating Chicago Bulls 110-105 in overtime thanks to Shooting Guard Tyler Herro’s 27 points to record a second consecutive win since losing 112-93 at Boston Celtics. That result secured their only loss in their last 6 NBA games. They are now first and third in the Southeast Division and Eastern Conference respectively with a 17-6 record and a win percentage of .739. Win number three could definitely be on the cards.

The Hawks were also victorious over the weekend with a 122-107 win at Charlotte Hornets to return to winning ways after losing 130-118 against the Brooklyn Nets in the previous game. The recent win was only their second win in their last 13 games. That does not bode well for the Hawks heading into this game. They are currently 5th in the Southeast Division and 13th in the Eastern Conference with a 6-17 record and a .261 win percentage. They will have to step up if they are to get a victory in this game and get a little revenge over Miami Heat.

Prediction: Heat VS. Hawks- 123-121

Portland Trail Blazers VS. New York Knicks

This game pits two struggling teams who need a win badly against each other.

The Trail Blazers lost 108-96 against Oklahoma City Thunder over the weekend to record a second loss in a row. The other defeat came against the Lakers (136-113). They have now won only once in their last 4 games (127-116 against Sacramento Kings last week). They are 5th in the Northwest Division and 12th in the Western Conference with a 9-15 record and a .375 win percentage. They could go into this game without the services of Shooting Guard Rodney Hood, who is reportedly a doubt with the injury.

The Knicks are also in the wretched form at the moment. Their 104-103 loss to the Pacers over the weekend was their 9th defeat in a row. Their last win in the NBA came last month against the Cleveland Cavaliers (123-105). They have also won only once on the road this season (106-102 at Dallas Mavericks). They are now bottom of the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference with a 4-19 record and a win percentage of .174.

Prediction: Trail Blazers VS. Knicks- 120-106
