Jones has been injured for a while now and is known to miss a few more games while being replaced by Eli Manning.
New York Giants rookie quarterback Jones Daniel was ruled out on Monday Nights Game on Saturday, they were playing against the Eagles. Reports have it that Jones’s absence could be prolonged due to his high ankle sprain.
Jones had suffered a moderate ankle sprain in week thirteen and expressed disappointment in the injury and vowed to learn from the guy who replaced him, Manning. “I knew something was wrong with my ankle but didn’t know how bad. It’s disappointing. I’m going to take it day by day to heal as quickly as I can,” Jones told reporters. “There’s an opportunity to learn and watch and I’ll try to do the best I can,” he added.
In a recent update, according to the national football league network, he could be forced to miss the next two to four games, which could leave him sidelined for the rest of the seasons since the Giants only have four games remaining. Ian Rapport took to Twitter to explain the situation by stating that “QB daniel Jones out tonight vs. Eagles with a high ankle sprain, is expected to miss from 2-4 weeks”. He also reasoned that Eli Manning could get at least one start before 2019 ends or maybe more.
Daniel Jones’s head coach had said he did not have any intention of shutting him down. This was four weeks ago. Last week Thursday, Jones could not practice, he was still receiving treatment while Eli Manning and the Giants prepare to meet the Philadelphia Eagles. Reports have it that he was on the exercise bike during the open portion of practice. And he was not the only one who missed practice that day. TE Rhett Ellison and CB Corey Ballentine were both down with concussions. Jabrill Peppers and Edge Chris Piece were also down with back and knee injuries, respectively.
People are saying Eli Manning playing to replace Jones would at least be the last chance of the Giants to celebrate their two-time Superbowl champion quarterback since this was his final season in New York.
What are New York Giant fans saying about Eli Manning?
Some of them are optimistic, others are not so sure about his abilities. ” you are making this seem like it’s Jones stats when it’s really Eli’s stats” a fan remarks, another replied that “Eli is certainly the reason why this stats exists. It is just wild that Giants fans forget what it is even like to have your QB miss a game due to injury” we can not agree any better with the latter. That is not all, Eli has some fans as well, “Eli coming back somehow makes me less confident the birds will win.”” I would, too, if I were you, only because Eli should be better at diagnosing the blitz and getting better blocking from our online which has regressed from the start of the year. If that’s the case, Barkley could have a big game. That being said, I still think you’ll win,” another fan reasoned.
Jones had played through the entire second half of last week’s 31-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers after getting injured but was kept action due only three weeks due to broken clavicle. “I think they are good, I think every day I’ve been feeling better, I think it should heal up pretty quickly” .clearly Jones has had his toll on injuries this past week. We hope he gets well sooner.
New York Giants will play against the Philadelphia Eagles tonight. Carson Wentz will lead the eagles to bounce-back victory, hopefully, following their three consecutive losses with the help of tight end Zach Ertz, wide receiver Nelson Agholor, and running back Miles Sanders. Eli Manning, on the other hand, still secures the team’s second division alongside Darius Slayton and Golden Tate, both wide receivers. Saquon Barkley will also help to threaten the Eagles defense.
The game will be played at the Lincoln Financial Field at 8:15 pm Eastern and will be aired on ESPN television.
We wish Jones a speedy recovery, best of luck to Manning, and may the best win!
