Terrelle Pryor, who is an American football wide receiver and currently a free agent is in critical condition after being stabbed in Pittsburgh per reports gathered on Saturday morning. The 30-year-old quarterback is considered the most recruited high school athlete in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Reports gathered revealed that Pryor was stabbed at his apartment complex and that family members are positive he would survive. ESPN’s Jerry Fowler reports that he is ” expected to survive the stabbing and several family members are by his side post-surgery as family members monitor his progress.”
WTAE, a television station in Pittsburgh, first reported the news and added information that an unidentified woman has been taken custody by the Pittsburgh police in connection with the stabbing whom they believed had something to do with it. “Police were at the Heinz Lofts apartment complex on Saturday morning,” the outlet reports. “Sources tell Pittsburgh’s Action News that a woman is in custody at Pittsburgh Police headquarters in connection with the stabbing. Her identity is not known.”
According to the Pittsburgh police statement, they had responded to Mercy hospital around 4:30 am, Saturday, but had failed to identify the victim or indicate whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the incident. ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided more information since there was no comment from either the police or Pryor’s agents. ” Former national football League wide receiver Terrelle Pryor underwent surgery this morning and is in critical condition after being stabbed last night at his Pittsburgh apartment in the shoulder and chest per source” he had reported.
Which teams have Terrelle played for?
Terrelle Pryor was a three-year starting quarterback at Ohio State with 6,177 passing yards, 57 touchdowns, and 26 interceptions. He ran 2,164 yards and 17 touchdowns in a dynamic Buckeyes offense. Pryor won 2008 Big Ten Freshman of the Year as a 247 sports composite five-star recruit. He started his break out season as a receiver with Cleveland Browns team, he caught 77 passes for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns that season and signed a one year $10 million deal with the Washington Redskins. Pryor also spent some time with the Buffalo Bills and the Jets catching 16 passes for 252 yards and two scores last season.
He played with nine different teams throughout his national football League career, Chiefs, Browns, Redskin, jets, and jags are a few of them. He recently signed a contract a one year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars in May. He joined Dede Westbrook, Marqise Lee, Keelan Cole, Chris Conley, and D.J Charley, who are also wide receivers at Jacksonville. He was chosen to join the Jaguars because they needed someone to play alongside Brooks, who is Jaguar’s top returning receivers and his relationship with Jags offensive coordinator John Defilippo. They needed him to produce starter- quality numbers but was later placed on injured reserve after a minor hamstring ailment in September. He is now a free agent, and any team will be glad to sign the veteran player. He only played in one preseason and his last game against Miami dolphins and had caught three passes for twenty-six yards before he left the game due to injury.
Why someone would want to ‘kill’ Terrelle is not known. But yes, he has haters and has people he has beefed with many times. Not to conclude or be judgemental but who knows? Perhaps someone out there is jealous of him and wants to take him down, Pryor is an excellent player and has reached enviable heights in his career and people have called him names, cyberbullied him and some of them even though he was not experienced and consistent enough but is that the case or does he have his issues?
Should he recover, which teams are likely going to sign him? There is Seattle Seahawks which he had pleaded with to sign him earlier this month, there’s also San Fransico 49ers, Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills could use some help with their quarterback, Washington Redskins can take him back and make very good use of him. Our heart goes out to his family, friends, and fans and we pray he gets back on his feet to catch some passes.
